Childrens Hospital

In April of 2006, CHRISTUS Schumpert Sutton Children’s Medical Center was opened. Over 60,000 square feet
dedicated to and specifically designed for the care of children, the Medical Center combines the latest in pediatric
technology with a kid-friendly atmosphere designed to be fun and comfortable for children of all ages. Services
provided now fill gaps that once existed in children’s healthcare, without duplicating services already available
in our area.

A “hospital-within-a-hospital”, Sutton Children’s is located on the campus of CHRISTUS Schumpert St. Mary Place.
Since opening, Sutton Children’s has averaged about 2,000 admissions per year including the NICU, and about
15,000 patient days per year.
“I think what makes a community strong is when we work to make things
better for our children and our grandchildren,” said
Hal Sutton, “I’m proud of Shreveport-Bossier for pulling together and
doing this, not just for our kids, but for generations to come.

”Since its inception, the CHRISTUS Schumpert Children’s Classic, presented by Hal Sutton and David Toms,
has been instrumental in raising funds and awareness for Sutton Children’s. Everyone involved, from PGA Tour
pros and sponsors, to volunteers and ticket holders, has helped to show that dreams really can come true.
Now, the mission is to provide the financial support needed to grow the services and provide world-class
children’s health care at Sutton Children’s Medical Center.
